About Me

Maxwell A. Wienecke

My passion for mathematics, statistics, and economics has been a lifelong journey, leading me to earn a Masters degree in Quantitative Economics and Mathematics from East Carolina University. While this could have pointed me towards a myriad of careers in finance, my love of teaching would let me do nothing else. Over the past 20 years, I’ve had the privilege of guiding students from elementary school to adulthood, helping them navigate complex concepts and achieve their academic goals.

Recognizing the unique challenges faced by students with ADHD, I then pursued specialized training to better support their learning needs. This expertise allows me to create engaging, interactive lessons that connect academic material to each student’s interests, making learning both meaningful and enjoyable.

As a solo tutor, I value the deep connections I build with my students and their families. Getting to know each student and their passions allows me to build personalized examples that makes the material meaningful. This approach enables me to tailor my teaching strategies to individual learning styles, fostering a supportive environment where students don’t just pass but truly enjoy the material. When a subject has meaning it stops being work and starts being part of what we do for fun. Whether it’s sports, music, animals, cars, skateboarding, carpentry, social media, video games, making money, or sleeping, everything you love relates back to mathematics and statistics. Building the bridge between theory and life is all it takes. I cannot build it for you but I can show you the plans and help you pour the concrete.
